WESTSIDE LAUNCHES ON DAB ACROSS LONDON
WESTSIDE has officially launched on DAB Digital Radio across London, marking one of the biggest milestones in the station’s history.
The station went live on Monday 17th November on two digital multiplexes — City West Digital (West London) and South of the River Digital Radio (South London) — dramatically expanding its reach across the capital.
WESTSIDE can now be heard from as far west as Uxbridge, up to Harrow in the north, down to Croydon in the south, and across towards Greenwich in the east — giving the station a potential reach of more than 6 million people.
Broadcasting from its long-time home in Hanwell, WESTSIDE continues to serve West London on 89.6FM and globally via THISISWESTSIDE.COM.
The station first launched on 13 September 2007, officially opened by then–Mayor of London candidate Boris Johnson, who cut the ribbon on what would become one of the city’s most influential community radio stations.
For more than 17 years, WESTSIDE has successfully blended Old and New Skool Hip Hop and R&B, delivering a sound that resonates with both young and older audiences. Now, for the first time, the rest of London can experience what West London listeners have been enjoying for years.
The station has also built a reputation for shaping talent: WESTSIDE has acted as a launchpad for a huge number of presenters, DJs, and creatives who have since gone on to work across major radio networks, television, digital media, music platforms, and creative industries throughout the UK.
